Are you an experienced finance leader with a strong track record of operating at Executive level within the social care or housing sectors?

Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to provide strategic financial leadership during a pivotal transition period.

Working closely with the Executive Team, you will take a strategic view of the organisation's financial position, ensuring robust financial strategies are in place and help ensure the finance function is fit for the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review existing financial practices, controls and reporting to ensure the organisation has an accurate and robust financial picture that reflects current business needs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a budgeting process that is fit for purpose for the 2026/27 budgeting cycle (October 2026 to March 2027).
  • Review, develop and drive a finance systems transformation programme, ensuring processes, systems and reporting support organisational objectives.
  • Provide strategic financial advice and challenge at Executive and Board level.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial governance, efficiency and decision‑making across the organisation.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

About You

You will be an experienced finance professional with

  • A proven track record operating at Executive, Finance Director or Consultant level.
  • Significant experience within social care, housing, or a closely related not‑for‑profit and highly regulated environment is preferred.
  • Strong strategic financial planning and budgeting expertise.
  • Experience leading finance transformation and systems improvement projects.
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide credible challenge and guidance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
