Are you technically minded with experience in a field-based, installation, maintenance, or technician role? Do you enjoy helping people and want a career where your work makes a genuine difference every day?
We are recruiting for a Telecare & Telehealth Assessor to support vulnerable adults across Wolverhampton by installing and maintaining specialist personal alarm equipment in their homes. This technology helps people remain safe, independent, and confident in their own homes while providing reassurance to families and carers.
Using a Council vehicle, you will travel throughout Wolverhampton, visiting customers in their homes to assess their needs, install equipment, provide demonstrations, and ensure systems are working effectively.
About the Role
This is a rewarding, community-focused position where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for fitting and maintaining telecare equipment designed to support people living independently.
Examples of the equipment include personal alarm systems, where a customer wears a pendant that can be activated in an emergency, such as after a fall, triggering an alert and enabling help to be arranged quickly.
Full training will be provided, so previous telecare experience isn't essential. However, you will need a strong technical aptitude, excellent customer service skills, and the confidence to work independently in customers' homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit customers in their homes across Wolverhampton to carry out assessments and equipment installations.
- Install, maintain, service, and troubleshoot telecare and telehealth equipment.
- Demonstrate equipment usage to customers, families, and carers.
- Respond to equipment faults and carry out repairs or replacements where required.
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure equipment continues to meet customers' needs.
- Maintain accurate records using iPads, laptops, and service management systems.
- Work closely with customers, carers, health professionals, and partner agencies.
- Support the recycling, collection, cleaning, and refurbishment of returned equipment.
- Promote the benefits of assistive technology and independent living solutions. xgikmsk
