SEND Service Manager Part-Time & Casual Opportunities Available Β£14.76 - Β£16.08 per hour Weekends & School Holidays, 6 different locations across West Sussex & Surrey

We are recruiting for an experienced SEND Service Manager to support the delivery of high-quality short break and respite services for children and young people aged 5-18. This is a rewarding opportunity to combine hands-on support with team leadership, helping create safe, inclusive and engaging environments where young people can thrive.
The Role
As an SEND Service Manager, you will lead sessions and activities for children and young people with a range of disabilities, SEND and complex needs, ensuring they receive person-centred support while enjoying meaningful experiences.
You will support and supervise a team of staff and volunteers, oversee session delivery, and help ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, care and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating day-to-day activity sessions
- Supervising and supporting support workers and volunteers
- Ensuring safe and inclusive service delivery
- Supporting children and young people with additional needs and disabilities
- Overseeing care plans, risk assessments and support strategies
- Supporting personal care and medication administration where required
- Managing incidents, safeguarding concerns and health & safety procedures
- Building positive relationships with families, colleagues and external partners
- Contributing to activity planning and programme development
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children and young people with SEND, disabilities or complex needs
- Has previous experience leading or supervising staff, volunteers or activities
- Understands safeguarding responsibilities and child-centred practice
- Can confidently support children with a variety of communication, behavioural and sensory needs
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
- Is proactive, compassionate and able to use their initiative
- Holds, or is willing to undertake, First Aid and Safeguarding training
Desirable
- Childcare, Youth Work, Health & Social Care or related Level 2/3 qualification
- Experience administering medication
- Knowledge of behaviour support strategies, Makaton, SEND or autism support
- Experience within education, childcare, social care or community services
