Neighbourhood Housing Officer
Temporary Contract, 10 weeks, £25 per hour,37 hours per week | Monday to Friday, Office based with regular community and resident visits
We are currently seeking an experienced Neighbourhood Housing Officer to join a busy and customer-focused housing team on a temporary basis until December 2026.
This role would suit someone who can quickly integrate into an established team, take ownership of a defined housing patch, and confidently manage a varied caseload from day one. Full induction and systems training will be provided, along with ongoing support from experienced colleagues, but applicants should have a solid background in housing management and be comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a designated housing patch and delivering an effective neighbourhood management service
- Investigating and managing anti-social behaviour cases through to resolution
- Handling mutual exchange applications and tenancy-related matters
- Conducting estate inspections and identifying issues relating to estate standards, health and safety, and neighbourhood management
- Managing a varied caseload and maintaining accurate case records
- Working closely with residents, colleagues, contractors, and partner agencies to resolve housing-related concerns
- Carrying out home visits and estate-based inspections where required
- Supporting the wider team in achieving performance targets and service standards
- Providing practical housing advice and guidance to residents
- Escalating complex tenancy, safeguarding, or community issues where appropriate
About You
We are looking for a proactive and experienced housing professional who can "hit the ground running" and make an immediate impact within the team.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Housing Officer, Neighbourhood Officer, Tenancy Officer, or similar role
- Strong experience managing anti-social behaviour cases
- Knowledge of mutual exchanges and tenancy management processes
- Experience carrying out estate inspections and neighbourhood management duties
- Ability to manage a demanding caseload and prioritise effectively
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Confidence working independently while contributing positively to a wider team
- Good working knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy management best practice
- Strong IT skills with the ability to update systems and maintain accurate records
