The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Asset Manager to join a growing and purpose-driven housing organisation. Reporting to the Head of Property Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the asset management strategy across a national portfolio of residential properties.
This is a varied role combining strategic asset management, planned investment programmes, stock condition management, compliance oversight, damp and mould management, complex repairs and tenant engagement.
You'll work closely with contractors, surveyors, tenants and key stakeholders to ensure homes are safe, compliant, well-maintained and fit for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the delivery of the asset management programme
- Develop planned investment strategies and long-term capital programmes
- Manage stock condition survey programmes and analyse data to inform investment decisions
- Oversee complex repairs and project-based works from specification through to completion
- Ensure compliance with Awaab's Law and lead damp and mould initiatives
- Support effective void property turnaround whilst maintaining housing standards
- Identify and manage compliance risks including fire safety, structural issues and asbestos-related concerns
- Build strong relationships with tenants, support providers, commissioners and contractors
- Produce reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders
About You
We're looking for a proactive and knowledgeable asset professional with experience within social housing, property services or asset management environments.
You will have:
- Degree, HNC/HND in Building Surveying, Housing Management, Construction or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of housing asset management principles
- Knowledge of HHSRS, Building Regulations, Landlord and Tenant legislation and social housing standards
- Experience managing stock condition data and planned maintenance programmes
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to analyse data, produce reports and make informed investment recommendations
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
