Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (1 Hour Lunch Break)

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to join a busy logistics operation, managing daily UK transport movements and ensuring customers receive a first-class service. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience in transport, logistics, freight forwarding, or distribution who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives on problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily UK collections and deliveries.
  • Arrange transport with approved hauliers, carriers, and subcontractors.
  • Manage a variety of freight movements including full loads, part loads, palletised freight, and groupage shipments.
  • Monitor vehicle movements and maintain regular communication with drivers and transport providers.
  • Provide customers with accurate shipment updates and estimated delivery times.
  • Resolve transport issues including delays, failed collections, delivery discrepancies, damages, and shortages.
  • Book timed collections and delivery appointments.
  • Obtain competitive transport rates and prepare customer quotations.
  • Source cost-effective transport solutions while maintaining service quality.
  • Process and monitor Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve delivery queries and invoice discrepancies.
  • Prepare completed transport files for billing and ensure all charges are correctly recorded.
  • Update internal systems and maintain accurate transport records.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong working relationships with customers and suppliers.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within transport, logistics, freight forwarding, or distribution.
  • Strong knowledge of UK road transport operations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
