Engineer - Interior Door Trim (Contract) Location: Crewe (Hybrid - minimum 3 days onsite) Rate: Β£33.10 per hour PAYE Contract: ASAP - 31/03/2027 (potential extension) Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday Core Hours: 09:30-14:30 with flexibility around these hours Overview We are seeking an experienced Interior Door Trim Engineer to support the design and development of door trim systems for a luxury automotive OEM. The role will involve taking components from concept through to production, working closely with internal teams and suppliers to deliver high-quality interior trim solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and develop interior door trim systems and components from concept through to production. Create and review component designs using CATIA V5 . Produce and review engineering drawings and support release activities. Design and develop leather-wrapped interior trim components . Manage engineering activities with suppliers and external design partners. Lead and participate in cross-functional design reviews. Generate innovative engineering solutions to design challenges. Support test and validation planning and engineering sign-off activities. Ensure designs meet quality, timing, cost and regulatory requirements. Support programme delivery across multiple vehicle projects. Essential Skills & Experience Automotive product design and development experience. Proven experience designing interior trim systems , ideally door trim. Advanced working knowledge of CATIA V5 . Experience creating and reviewing engineering drawings. Experience managing suppliers and external engineering partners. Strong understanding of automotive product development processes. Ability to solve complex engineering and design-related problems. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and lead activities without direct reports.
