Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Business Growth to join a high-profile regional organisation at the forefront of economic growth and business engagement across the Midlands. The Role:
As the Head of Business Growth, you will be instrumental in steering the Business Growth function through a period of development and change. Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership: Guide the direction of business growth and engagement activities, ensuring effective support for businesses and clear pathways into programmes.
Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with a diverse network of businesses, sector groups, local authorities, universities, and delivery partners to create a robust business support ecosystem.
Team Management: Provide direction and support to a growing team, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on leadership.
Market Intelligence: Gather insights to inform future strategies, ensuring business needs align with broader economic growth priorities.
Representation: Act as a representative at senior stakeholder meetings and partnership forums, championing the organisation's objectives.
About You:
The ideal candidate will possess:
A strong track record in business growth, economic development, or business support environments.
Experience in roles within Combined Authorities, Local Government, Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), Growth Hubs, Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development Organisations, Inward Investment Agencies, or Business Membership Organisations.
Excellent stakeholder management and partnership-building skills, with a proven ability to operate in complex public sector environments.
Exceptional communication, engagement, and influencing skills, with the ability to inspire confidence across the organisation and its network.
