A well-established fabricator, manufacturer, and installer of industrial steelwork is seeking a skilled Fabricator / Sheet Metal Worker to join their production team in the Rochdale area. The role involves transforming flat metal sheets (1.5 mm - 20.0 mm) into precision components and structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabrication & Assembly: Cut, bend, shape, and assemble sheet metal sections using various tools and techniques.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, engineering blueprints, and specifications to plan layouts and determine material requirements.
- Machine Operation: Set up and operate machinery such as CNC press brakes, guillotines, folders, rollers, and punch presses.
- Welding & Joining: Perform MIG or spot-welding components.
- Finishing: Use hand tools (grinders, sanders, files) to deburr and smooth edges for a professional finish.
- Quality Control: Inspect workpieces for accuracy, dimensions, and tolerances using measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and squares.
- Safety: Maintain a clean workspace and strictly adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the use of PPE.
Skills & Qualifications:
