Are you an experienced welder with experience in manufacturing or engineering? Are you seeking a new role that matches your career development and aspirations? My client has secured several major aerospace projects and have an orderbook bursting at the seams. They are urgently looking to recruit welders within their engineering department. This is a days role (07:30 - 16:00, Monday to Friday).
Role Profile
As an experienced welder, this is a hands-on position responsible for the welding of aviation components. Working to tight tolerances, this position will primarily work on productionised components but should also have the flexibility to work on new product introduction.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Experience in fitting small diameter tubes for Orbital welding to precise tolerances.
- Trade qualified with a recognised apprenticeship (City and Guilds etc.).
- Undertake TIG welding (manual, automatic and Orbital) to aircraft standards to fall in line with welding controls and processes.
- Read and interpret Engineering drawings.
- Read, interpret and follow batch cards ensuring that batch card discipline is adhered to at all times.
- General maintenance of machinery, jigs and fixtures is required to ensure a clean and healthy working environment.
- Working alongside the Operational team, reduce welding non-conformances and work to best practices.
- Assist with corrective actions and assist with route cause analysis to prevent issues from re-occurring.
- Support business improvement initiatives.
Person Specification
- Good knowledge of fusion welding, with at least five years experience working in the Aviation sector.
- Experience of working with a variety of materials including exotic metals such as Nickel and Titanium based alloys.
- Ability to work within a Team environment.
- Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a wider team.
- Ability to read, understand and work towards engineering drawings.
- Ability to communicate in an effective manner at different levels within the organisation.
The Offer
The client offers the welders a competitive base salary of £36,275, plus overtime at time and a half, company pension, life assurance and private medical cover.
