We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Fit Out Welder to support the installation of mechanical systems and components on a dedicated site. This hands‑on role involves welding and fitting mechanical infrastructure safely and efficiently, ensuring all work meets high standards of quality and site safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out stick welding on structural and mechanical components, including brackets, supports, and pipework.
  • Install mechanical systems such as pipework, ducting, and steelwork in line with technical drawings.
  • Operate plant equipment (FLT, scissor lift, cherry picker) to transport and position materials at height or in confined spaces.
  • Assist with the alignment and assembly of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools to complete mechanical and welding tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organised work area and uphold site safety standards.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols, including safe lifting, working at height, and hot works procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience in mechanical installation or utilities work.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents.
  • Strong understanding of manual handling and safe lifting practices.
  • Comfortable working at height and in physically demanding environments.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or similar.

Working Hours

The working hours for this position are 40 hours per week, from 7am to 4pm, Monday to Thursday and from 7am to 1pm on Friday. The business is closed for Bank Holidays, we also enjoy a shutdown every Christmas until after the New Year.
