Job Description:

THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Due to the growth of the firm and an ever-changing regulatory environment, we are looking for a proactive, customer service-focused individual, with a keen eye for detail, to join our Financial Crime & Sanctions (FCS) Team.

As a Senior Analyst in the FCS team, you will ensure that the Firm complies with its regulatory obligations by managing and mitigating risk, applying a risk-based approach where appropriate, and providing support to junior team members. You will play a vital role in implementing, embedding, and monitoring compliance, including creating and maintaining all client due diligence (CDD)/anti-money laundering (AML) records, in accordance with relevant global laws and regulations.

THE TEAM
The Onboarding team is part of the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) Directorate, based across the Firm\’s offices in Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Dubai.

The team provides advice and guidance on client onboarding, AML CDD checks, risk assessments, and related work, supporting the Firm\’s MLROs, Deputies, and OGC team on high-risk and reputational issues, including Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).

This role offers opportunities for continuous learning, adaptation, and exploration within Risk and Compliance, fostering individual growth and development.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Understanding AML regulations relevant to the Firm\’s jurisdictions under supervision.
• Conducting AML/CDD checks of varying complexity across sectors and jurisdictions.
• Researching using databases, third-party providers, and public sources.
• Identifying high-risk factors such as PEPs, ownership structures, high-risk jurisdictions, sanctions, and intelligence.
• Advising on CDD/AML requirements and best practices.
• Mentoring junior analysts and supporting team leaders.
• Managing workflow to meet SLAs.
• Auditing CDD forms and data systems, providing feedback.
• Analyzing sanctions notifications and escalating issues.
• Assisting with tasks, projects, and updating procedures.
• Compiling MI statistics for stakeholders.
