Purpose of the Role

We are seeking an Associate Employment Lawyer with a combination of contentious and non‑contentious employment law experience, to join our team in Leeds. You will have in the region of 3+ years post‑qualifying experience.

Addleshaw Goddard has implemented a flexible, hybrid working model that requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. Occasional travel between UK offices may be required for effective collaboration.

The Employment Team

The Employment & Immigration Group specialises in providing comprehensive advice on employment law and global mobility to financial institutions, FTSE 100 companies and prominent UK and international businesses. The Leeds team focuses on the financial services, retail and consumer, energy and transport sectors, advising on significant HR issues such as complex tribunal litigation, whistleblowing protection and major restructuring projects.

What To Expect In This Role

The role will involve the full range of employment law and HR support work (contentious and non‑contentious) for a wide range of clients across all business sectors.

  • You will develop close client relationships and take a major role in client work from the outset.
  • You will be flexible, agile and enthusiastic in growing and developing your knowledge and experience of employment law within a supportive environment.
  • You will be client‑focused and consider how AI and other tools may improve services for our clients.
  • You will foster and grow client relationships and develop new ones, collaborating with colleagues across practice areas and industry groups.
  • You will engage in continuous self‑development, participating in formal training, mentoring, coaching and leadership development programmes.

Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise

  • A minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience working in a similar practice.
  • Enthusiasm for growing and developing your knowledge and undertaking intellectually challenging work.
  • Detail oriented, self‑motivated and proactive, with confidence in building enduring client relationships based on trust and high‑quality service delivery.
  • Inquisitive, with a keen understanding of client drivers and what matters to them, so that your advice has quality, imagination and impact.
