The continued success of the team has led to an increase in the number and value of key mandates. We are looking to recruit a Construction lawyer to join our Leeds team specialising in contentious construction matters. This includes acting for Developers, Lenders, Landlords, Tenants, PPPs and Public Sector Bodies across a range of JCT, NEC and other standard form contracts and bespoke terms.
There is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the carrying out of high calibre work together with client relationship development and continued expansion of the team and practice. This is a high performing, cohesive and busy team with a strong client list and pipeline. Legal Directors are encouraged and supported to take lead roles on client relationships and the supervision of the team, allowing for the development of client networks and management skills.
With more than 100 specialist lawyers, including 26 Partners, our Construction and Engineering team offers a full service of legal solutions to all aspects of the construction industry. Our Team in Leeds consists of 6 partners and over 30 other fee earners. The team’s specialist experience combined with their commerciality, great relationships and innovation are the reason that they remain Tier 1 ranked in both Legal 500 and Chambers.
The team advise on every aspect of Construction Law across all sectors of the industry, both contentious and non-contentious. The work of the group is hugely varied and includes buildings, civil and process plant engineering, energy, infrastructure and utilities - across both private and public sectors. The team also provide project support and advice to our wider Real Estate, Banking and Projects teams.
Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise
- Excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree.
- Strong academics and at least ten years’ experience in construction law, at a leading practice recognised for construction or Real Estate work.
- Ability to actively lead complex transactions, liaising and coordinating with fee earners from other relevant disciplines as needed.
- Experience in supervising, developing and managing more junior fee earners.
- Ability to achieve continuous improvement and development.
