Join our dynamic Office of the General Counsel (OGC) at Addleshaw Goddard as a Senior Conflicts Advisory Lawyer, where you'll play a key role in managing risk and compliance for a growing, international law firm. Working within the Conflicts Advisory Team, you'll collaborate with colleagues across the UK and globally to assess new client work and resolve complex conflicts issues.
Job description:
- Conduct legal and regulatory analysis of potential conflicts and confidentiality issues
- Liaise with Partners and fee earners to understand conflicts and client relationships
- Facilitate resolutions to conflicts issues with Partners, stakeholders, and senior management
- Identify wider commercial, risk, and reputational issues at the conflict clearance stage
- Input into and improve policies and procedures for managing conflicts and compliance
- Supervise and mentor members of the Conflicts Advisory and Conflicts Teams
- Act as a point of escalation for complex conflicts search requests
Required profile:
- Experienced conflicts lawyer with a background in international law firm work
- Detail-oriented with strong commercial awareness and big-picture thinking
- Excellent communicator, able to tailor advice and present information clearly
- Solution-driven, decisive, and able to command respect as a lawyer to the lawyers
- In-depth understanding of the UK regulatory regime for law firms; knowledge of other jurisdictions is an advantage
