We are looking for a financial regulation associate to join the team.

Candidates should be newly qualified upwards – at associate, managing associate and legal director level.

The role offers a central position delivering non‑contentious regulatory advice and client relationship development with RLB and Payments Partners.

Purpose of the Role

Deliver regulatory advice on retail financial services, drafting customer‑facing documentation, supporting client technology initiatives, and playing a significant role in business development.

The Team

Addleshaw Goddard’s Financial Regulation Team is one of the largest in the UK, based in Leeds, London and Scotland, led by Rosanna Bryant with 8 other Partners.

  • What to Expect
  • Collaborate closely with RLB and Payments Partners, and other senior lawyers.
  • Work on a range of regulatory work: deposit taking, payment services, consumer credit and mortgages.
  • Draft regulated consumer credit agreements, mortgage documents, and terms and conditions.
  • Assist clients in assessing impact of legislation and informing implementation or lobbying strategies.
  • Support procurement of new technologies such as AI, open banking, smart data, De Fi and distributed ledger technologies.
  • Help partners manage client relationships and support business‑development activities.
  • Provide sign‑off on marketing materials and conduct compliance audits.
  • Work with commercial and transactional teams on pioneering deals.
  • Assist with FCA authorisation applications.
  • Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise
  • Experience advising on payment arrangements, Consumer Credit Act, Consumer Credit Sourcebook, Mortgages and Home Finance Conduct of Business Sourcebook, and new forms of digital money.
  • Strong commercial mindset, ability to provide pragmatic and tailored advice.
  • Excellent client‑relationship skills and teamwork.
  • Desire to lead and own matters and bring them to conclusion.
  • Capability to support complex transactions, liaising with other fee earners as needed.
