Overview
Associate/Managing Associate – Finance Disputes in Manchester. We are seeking an ambitious Associate or Managing Associate to join our Finance Disputes team based in Manchester. The team handles high-profile, complex disputes for leading financial institutions, asset-based lenders, and insolvency practitioners, including multi-million-pound fraud claims, cross-border disputes, and urgent injunctions.
What You\’ll Do
- Act on complex finance litigation in the County Court, High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court.
- Handle fraud-related disputes, including “fresh air” invoicing, sales out of trust, and dishonest assistance claims.
- Manage large-scale debt recovery portfolios for leading banks and commercial finance providers.
- Advise on and resolve disputes at the pre-action stage, often avoiding litigation.
- Handle insolvency-related disputes, including actions against guarantors and indemnifiers, and defended proceedings.
- Advise on urgent injunctions, delivery-up orders, and cross-border enforcement and asset recovery.
- Support clients on regulatory and reputational issues, including FCA, FSCS, FOS, and data protection disputes.

- A qualified lawyer with strong experience in commercial litigation and finance disputes.
- Proven track record of acting for financial institutions, lenders, or commercial clients in contentious matters.
- Experience of fraud-related disputes, injunctions, or cross-border enforcement.
