We are looking for a Corporate Associate to join our Aberdeen team. You will work on a variety of corporate matters including transactional and non‑transactional work. This is a high performing, cohesive and busy team with excellent prospects for career development. You will handle your own matters (with supervision) and assist the Partners on more complex matters.

The Scotland Corporate team provides M&A, private equity and capital markets advice across a range of sectors, with particular strength in life sciences, energy and technology. The team is Tier 1 and Band 1 in Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners and winner of the Corporate Law Firm of the Year 2025 at the Dealmakers Awards and Legal 500 Scotland Awards. The team pairs detailed local knowledge with the reach of the firm's international network to deliver complex, high‑value transactions for multinational corporates, private equity investors and public sector clients.

In this role you will be working closely with Aberdeen partners Fiona Kindness and David McEwing who are focused on transactions in the energy sector. Other Partners in the team across Scotland include Anna Brown, Murray Jack, Andrew Ley, Laura Falls, Iain Sutherland, David Horne and Derek McCombe.

What to Expect in this Role

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documents
  • Supporting senior lawyers to manage and co‑ordinate transactions from initial instruction through to closing, including multi‑jurisdictional deals
  • Assisting with the closing process including both physical and virtual signings
  • Maintaining contact with clients post‑closing to support their ongoing legal needs
  • Working alongside your colleagues to further grow and develop our corporate business, including involvement in client and targeting teams, and other business development opportunities
  • Being positively encouraged and expected to participate fully in business development activities, with a view to supporting the future growth and development of new and existing client relationships

Role Requirements

  • You are a qualified lawyer (2 – 8 years+ PQE) and are driven by excellent client outcomes and providing excellent customer service to the clients that you look after.
  • You want to join an award‑winning practice that has great breadth and variety and want to expand your knowledge and skillset and develop your career at Associate level.
  • Be a team player, motivated and keen to progress to more senior roles within AG.
  • Be ambitious and want to help grow the international practice and take an active role in core initiatives in the firm.
