An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor, working across a strong pipeline of technically demanding projects throughout Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, with potential future projects in Suffolk.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the electrical construction delivery of major laboratory, healthcare and technically complex building projects, working alongside experienced project and commercial teams to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

The Role

  • Oversee the day-to-day electrical construction activities on site, coordinating subcontractors, site teams and project stakeholders from mobilisation through to completion.
  • Manage the delivery of electrical installations across major laboratory and healthcare projects.
  • Coordinate electrical subcontractors and specialist contractors on site.
  • Plan and sequence works to ensure programmes are achieved.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, design teams and the wider construction team.
  • Monitor progress, quality, workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
  • Review drawings, technical information and installation requirements.
  • Support the coordination of MEP services and resolve site-based technical issues.
  • Ensure all electrical works are delivered in accordance with relevant standards, regulations and project requirements.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Attend progress meetings and provide updates on electrical construction activities.
  • Manage resources, labour and materials to support efficient project delivery.
  • Support commissioning, testing and handover through to project completion.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical construction management, ideally gained within a main contractor, MEP contractor or specialist building services environment. Experience working on healthcare, laboratories, life sciences, pharmaceutical, data centre or other technically complex projects would be highly advantageous.

Candidates should have:

  • Proven experience managing electrical construction activities on sizeable projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial building services and electrical installations.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and site-based electrical teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach to managing programme, quality and safety.
  • Relevant electrical qualifications and site management credentials.

Location & Eligibility

The role will suit candidates already based within a reasonable travelling distance of Norfolk or Cambridgeshire, or those who are genuinely willing to travel to projects across the region. There is also the potential for future work in Suffolk, providing further continuity for the successful candidate.
