An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Administrator to join a well-established professional accountancy firm providing accounting, tax, and business advisory services to small and medium-sized organisations. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for delivering accurate payroll services and supporting client accounts efficiently. This is a full-time permanent role offering hybrid working options (3 days office, 2 days from home), a salary range of £33,000 - £35,000 and benefits.
You will be responsible for:
- Processing monthly and weekly payroll, including wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
- Managing CIS returns and related processes
- Administering pensions, including auto-enrolment uploads and redeclarations
- Handling statutory payments and benefits in kind
- Communicating with HMRC to resolve queries
- Managing client billing and debt chasing
- Maintaining relationships and daily communications with a varied client portfolio
- Handling payroll queries from clients and staff
What we are looking for:
- Previously worked as a Senior Payroll Administrator, Payroll Administrator, Payroll Executive, Payroll Senior, Payroll Specialist, Senior Payroll Coordinator, Senior Payroll Clerk or in a similar role.
- Proven payroll experience of at least 3 years within accountancy practice
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, statutory payments, tax rules, National Insurance, pensions, and auto-enrolment
- Awareness of GDPR and confidentiality obligations
- Ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently
- Professional approach when handling sensitive matters
