An opportunity has arisen for an Area Sales Manager to join a company operating within the heating, plumbing and building services sector, providing technical solutions that support efficient, reliable and sustainable heating and cooling systems.
As an Area Sales Manager, you will report to the Regional Sales Manager, with responsibility for increasing sales across the territory by developing customer accounts, securing new business and strengthening market relationships. This is a home-based, permanent, full-time role with regular travel across the territory, offering a salary range of £50,000 - £60,000 and benefits. This role does not offer sponsorship.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing and expanding relationships with existing and prospective customers across relevant sectors.
- Identifying new commercial opportunities and developing them into sustainable business.
- Creating and implementing territory and account plans to maximise sales opportunities.
- Carrying out customer visits, product presentations, demonstrations, training sessions and business reviews.
- Negotiating pricing and customer agreements within agreed commercial parameters.
- Keeping CRM records, sales pipelines, forecasts, visit activity and account information up to date.
- Working closely with internal sales, technical, marketing and customer service teams to provide a consistent customer experience.
- Representing the organisation professionally at exhibitions, trade events and customer meetings.
The candidates from the following background will be considered: Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Technical Sales Manager, Technical Sales Engineer, Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, Account Manager, Territory Manager, or in a similar role.
What we are looking for:
- Approx 2 years of relevant sales experience.
- Experience in external field sales within heating, plumbing, HVAC, water treatment, M&E or the wider building services sector.
- Established relationships with merchants, contractors, installers, heating engineers, developers, housing associations, OEMs and specification-led customers.
- Ability to manage and grow a territory, open new accounts and build a strong pipeline.
- Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, negotiation and account planning.
- Able to work independently across a large territory, with strong CRM management and forecasting discipline.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
