An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Fire Alarm Engineer to join an established fire and security services provider, supporting the delivery and technical performance of fire and life safety systems.
This is a senior, hands-on position for an experienced fire engineer who can take responsibility for complex technical work, provide technical guidance to other engineers and act as a point of support when more challenging issues arise.
This is a field-based role offering a basic salary of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, plus paid travel, on-call and overtime allowances, with total average earnings of £50,000 - £60,000.
Candidates can be based anywhere in London or within 15 miles north and 20 miles south of St Albans (office location).
You will be responsible for:
- Commissioning and testing addressable and conventional fire alarm systems, carrying out complex fault diagnosis and resolving technical issues.
- Configuring system logic, cause-and-effect functions and networked panel arrangements, using manufacturer software for system configuration, diagnostics and optimisation.
- Working across fire alarm platforms including Gent, Advanced, Ziton, Morley and Kentec, alongside associated systems such as air sampling, suppression and smoke ventilation.
- Acting as a technical lead on site, providing guidance, mentoring and practical support to engineers, while contributing to skills development and technical standards.
- Completing commissioning documentation, technical reports, audits and inspections, while providing professional technical support to customers and stakeholders and supporting compliance with relevant standards and procedures.

Ideally, you will have experience with some of the following:
- Gent, Advanced, Ziton, Morley or Kentec.
