Senior Product Designer : Figma & Miro in City of Westminster

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Product Designer to join a well-established health research organisation and charity supporting large-scale medical research to improve disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer who can work across UX and UI design, particularly in situations where requirements may be unclear, incomplete or evolving.

You will use research, stakeholder input and design expertise to develop practical, user-centred solutions, while working with product, research, content, behavioural science and engineering teams.

You will be involved in designing participant invitation journeys, developing and testing prototypes, working with established design systems and applying accessibility and inclusive design principles.

This is a 6-month contract offering hybrid / remote working, at £500-£600 per day depending on experience, Inside IR35.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading UX and UI design activities through discovery, design and validation.
• Designing clear and trustworthy participant invitation journeys.
• Creating, testing and refining prototypes to inform product decisions.
• Working alongside product, content, research, behavioural science and engineering teams.
• Turning research findings, stakeholder input and unclear requirements into practical design solutions.
• Identifying shared requirements across teams and developing scalable and repeatable experiences.
• Working with related service teams to improve consistency and design practices.
• Facilitating discussions across product, engineering, research, clinical and business stakeholders.
• Communicating design thinking, recommendations and trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Applying established design systems, accessibility standards and ethical considerations to design work.
• Contributing to product priorities, roadmaps and wider service design decisions.

You will be able to demonstrate some of the following:

• Proven experience working as a Senior Product Designer within digital product environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build agreement across varied teams.
• Experience working effectively where requirements are unclear, incomplete or subject to change.
• A user-centred approach to solving complex problems and developing practical solutions.
• Experience creating scalable and repeatable digital services and user experiences.
• Strong working knowledge of Figma and Miro.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX and product design work.
• Experience using user research to inform design recommendations and decisions.
• Experience working within Agile, cross-functional product teams.
• Confidence working with established design systems and recognised interface patterns.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills when working with different stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles, including experience designing beyond minimum WCAG 2.2 AA requirements.

Anyone with the following would be highly sought after:

• Experience working across different organisational environments, such as agencies, start-ups, public sector organisations or larger businesses.
• Background designing products or services within healthcare, research, government or other service-led environments.
• Experience working within regulated environments.
• Knowledge of service design, inclusive design and scalable design practices.

The candidates from the following background will be considered:

• Previously worked as a Senior Product Designer, Product Designer, Lead Product Designer, Digital Product Designer, Product Design Lead or in a similar role.
