What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver cyber security consultancy projects for clients across a variety of sectors.
  • Lead security maturity assessments, gap analyses and cyber risk reviews.
  • Advise clients on governance, risk, compliance and security best practice.
  • Develop security strategies, roadmaps and practical improvement plans.
  • Support organisations with compliance against recognised frameworks including ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, NIST CSF, CIS Controls and GDPR.
  • Review and develop security policies, standards and governance documentation.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings and executive-level presentations.
  • Assess infrastructure, cloud environments and business processes from a security perspective.
  • Provide guidance on secure architecture, vulnerability management and cyber resilience.
  • Review third-party supplier security risks and recommend improvements.
  • Support pre-sales activities, proposals and client presentations.
  • Build lasting client relationships and identify opportunities to deliver additional value.
  • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the development of consulting services and best practices.

Main Skills Needed

  • Proven experience in cyber security consulting, governance, risk or advisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of information security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS Controls and Cyber Essentials.
  • Experience delivering client-facing security consultancy projects from discovery through to delivery.
  • Knowledge of risk assessments, security maturity reviews and compliance programmes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong report writing, presentation and stakeholder management experience.
  • Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Experience within a consultancy, managed services or professional services environment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of cloud security, Microsoft security technologies, security architecture or incident response would be beneficial.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, Microsoft Security certifications, CREST or GIAC are desirable.
