Location: Amesbury, Wiltshire – 3 days per week onsite

Salary: £27,000 pa - £30,000 pa DOE.

Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.

About the role

We are working with a leading UK organisation to recruit a Payroll Administrator to join their Employee Services team based in Amesbury. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous payroll experience who enjoys working in a customer-focused environment and is looking to develop their career within a large, established organisation. You will provide day-to-day payroll and employee services support, helping to ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time and in line with relevant legislation and company procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide first-line payroll support to employees via phone, email and the Employee Services Helpdesk.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service to all employees and internal customers.
  • Support the administration and processing of three different payrolls.
  • Process payroll files in line with agreed payroll schedules and cut-off dates.
  • Ensure payroll activities comply with HMRC requirements and internal payroll policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with GDPR and organisational policies when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Liaise with relevant third parties and external providers where required.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll queries accurately and efficiently.
  • Support the wider Employee Services team with planned and ad-hoc activities as required.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience working within payroll.
  • A good understanding of payroll processes and HMRC requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines and payroll cut-offs.
  • CIPP certification or currently working towards CIPP certification.
  • A proactive and reliable approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of the organisation and role, candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
