What You’ll Be Doing
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts, covering P&L and balance sheet performance
- Owning the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, payroll and intercompany postings
- Managing balance sheet reconciliations across key accounts
- Preparing clear variance analysis against prior periods and prior year
- Ensuring financial reporting aligns with UK GAAP/IFRS and internal control standards
- Maintaining the fixed asset register, including depreciation and capitalisation
- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring HMRC compliance
- Supporting internal and external audits with schedules and evidence
- Maintaining cashbooks, bank postings and cash reconciliations
- Working closely with Payroll to ensure accurate journals and statutory deductions
- Partnering with FP&A and supporting process improvements across finance
Main Skills Needed
- AAT qualified or ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or qualified
- Solid experience with month-end close and management accounting
- Exposure to VAT returns and audit support
- Strong Excel capability, including PivotTables and lookups
- A strong control mindset with excellent attention to detail
- Confidence working in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
