An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior SOC Analyst to join a growing Security Operations Centre supporting Defence and National Security environments. Working alongside experienced engineers, architects, and cyber specialists, you’ll help monitor and protect secure digital systems that support critical operations.
The Role
As a Junior SOC Analyst, you will support the monitoring and protection of secure systems within a 24/7 SOC environment. You’ll gain hands‑on exposure to cyber security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and security monitoring technologies while working as part of a collaborative cyber team.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor systems for security alerts, suspicious activity, intrusions, or unauthorised behaviour
- Respond to cyber security incidents using established playbooks and procedures
- Escalate complex incidents to Tier 2 Incident Response teams where required
- Assist with reviewing and improving existing security controls across the environment
- Review vulnerability scanning reports and support remediation activities with technical teams
- Assess secure configurations and provide feedback on remediation actions
- Produce recurring service and security reports for internal stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the SOC
- Stay up to date with current cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and emerging technologies
- Develop knowledge and understanding of cyber security operations and best practice
- Participate in shift‑based 24/7 SOC operations
