What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and mentoring a small team of SOC Analysts across multiple platforms and projects
- Monitoring systems for security alerts, threats and suspicious activity
- Improving and evolving security controls as the technical landscape grows
- Supporting the development of role-based access controls aligned with an existing IDAM service
- Producing regular security and service reports for senior stakeholders
- Delivering security awareness training, onboarding briefings and internal campaigns
- Supporting system certifications and compliance, including ISO 27001 and related standards
- Acting as a trusted point of contact for security-related guidance across the business
- Working closely with the Operational Security Manager to mature the SOC function
- Staying ahead of emerging threats, trends and best practice in cyber security
Main Skills Needed
- Experience working in a SOC or similar security-focused environment (3+ years)
- Strong knowledge of SIEM, incident management and threat intelligence
- Understanding of cloud technologies, networking and information security principles
- Hands-on experience with IDAM, RBAC and JML processes
- Familiarity with ITSM policies, information classification and governance frameworks
- Knowledge of common threats such as phishing, ransomware and malware
- Confidence leading, supporting and developing junior analysts
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CISMP, CompTIA Security+) are beneficial
