What You’ll Be Doing:
- Define and drive the long-term vision, roadmap and evolution of a large-scale data platform architecture.
- Lead the design of data integration, storage, governance, metadata and consumption frameworks.
- Champion data quality, accessibility and governance to support advanced analytics and AI initiatives.
- Establish architectural standards, best practices and governance processes across the wider data function.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Data Engineers and Analysts.
- Develop scalable, secure and resilient data solutions for complex operational environments.
- Shape integration strategies covering APIs, event-driven architectures, data sharing and interoperability.
- Create reference architectures, patterns and guardrails that enable consistent and repeatable delivery.
- Lead data modelling activities across conceptual, logical and physical layers.
- Engage with senior stakeholders, translating technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
Main Skills Needed:
- Significant experience in Data Architecture, Data Platform Engineering or a similar leadership role.
- Proven track record of owning and evolving enterprise data architectures within complex environments.
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, lineage, stewardship and data quality frameworks.
- Experience working across on-premise, cloud and hybrid technology landscapes.
- Knowledge of data integration, interoperability, APIs and event-driven architectures.
- Ability to define architecture roadmaps, standards and governance frameworks.
- Previous experience leading technical teams and providing architectural direction.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience operating within highly secure, regulated or mission-critical environments would be advantageous.
