Role Overview:
- Location: Farnborough (Hybrid working)
- Industry: Defence & National Security / Secure Technology
- Security Clearance: Must have valid SC level or above
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing and delivering security architectures across defence and security programmes
- Performing risk management activities using recognised industry frameworks
- Ensuring security solutions are proportionate to system criticality and classification
- Collaborating with IT architects and subject matter experts to embed security throughout delivery
- Applying secure-by-design principles across complex technical environments
- Producing assurance and compliance evidence aligned to MOD regulations
- Designing and evaluating mitigation options for identified vulnerabilities
- Working closely with software, infrastructure, DevSecOps and cyber teams
- Supporting the strategic direction of security initiatives across multiple projects
Main Skills Needed:
- Experience as a Security Architect within regulated or high-assurance environments
- Strong risk management capability using frameworks such as NIST 800-53
- Ability to work hands-on with technical teams at architecture and design level
- Experience selecting and designing security controls across networks, identity, endpoints, cryptography and data
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory considerations within cyber security
- Proven ability to produce high-quality security and assurance documentation
- Familiarity with MOD standards such as JSP 604 / 453 and associated artefacts
- Eligibility for UK government security clearance (or willingness to undergo vetting)
