Job Description

Engineering & Delivery Lead

Global insurance businesses are built on robust technology and this role puts you right at the centre. You’ll be driving software delivery across critical platforms, leading engineering teams, and making sure tech strategy keeps pace with business transformation.

Role Overview:

Location: Hybrid, 2 days per week in Central London.

Package: £800- £1,000 per day Inside IR35 (dependent on experience)

Contract Length: 6 Months Initially, with potential for extension

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Setting the vision and roadmap for multiple software products in the London Insurance Market.
  • Leading engineering teams through the full development lifecycle.
  • Aligning technology initiatives with wider business goals.
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes, systems, and governance.
  • Overseeing vendor relationships and identifying future-fit tools and platforms.
  • Ensuring scalable, high-performance applications and data systems are delivered.

Main Skills Needed:

  • 10+ years’ experience in software development and architecture.
  • Strong track record in managing and mentoring technical teams.
  • Hands-on knowledge of relational (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis).
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as ReactJS, HTML5, and CSS frameworks.
  • Insurance industry experience is essential.
  • Degree-level education is beneficial but not mandatory.
