What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading electrical design activity across major platform management and control system programmes
- Designing and developing electrical panels, cabinets and enclosures aligned to demanding operational requirements
- Producing and reviewing schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation to industry and defence standards
- Taking ownership of power and control system designs from concept through to integration and qualification
- Justifying design decisions, component selections and system configurations with clear technical rationale
- Managing bills of materials, specifications and engineering documentation for contractual delivery
- Troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues across design, manufacturing and integration phases
- Supporting requirement definition and ensuring compliance within safety-critical environments
Main Skills Needed:
- Proven experience in electrical design engineering within complex engineering projects
- Background as an Electrical or Hardware Lead (or ready to step into that level of responsibility)
- Strong understanding of electrical standards, ideally within defence or regulated industries (e.g. Lloyd’s, Def Stan)
- Experience designing power and control systems, including panel and cabinet layouts
- Confident working with electrical CAD tools and structured documentation processes
- Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Able to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-accountability environments
