This is a hands-on contract for an experienced Cloud Engineer with a strong infrastructure background and proven experience operating within highly regulated environments.

Role Overview

  • Location: Hybrid/Warrington (2 days per week on-site)
  • Package: £600–£650 per day Outside IR35
  • Contract: Initial 3–6 months with strong potential for extension

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assess and enhance the existing AWS infrastructure to support a large-scale cloud migration.
  • Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient AWS environments.
  • Take ownership of core cloud infrastructure, including networking, IAM, compute, storage, and Kubernetes services.
  • Optimise cloud architecture to improve performance, resilience, and cost efficiency.
  • Work closely with Solution Architects and Data Engineers to ensure the platform meets project requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise on AWS best practices, governance, and infrastructure design.
  • Lead engagement around AWS MAP programme opportunities and any available co-funding initiatives.
  • Ensure all infrastructure aligns with security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Main Skills Needed

  • Strong hands-on AWS infrastructure experience, including VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, EKS, and networking.
  • Proven background delivering cloud migration and infrastructure modernisation projects.
  • A strong cloud infrastructure focus, with experience building and supporting enterprise-scale AWS environments.
  • Experience working within highly regulated industries such as financial services, insurance, legal, or similar sectors where security and compliance are critical.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, and cost optimisation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across architecture and engineering teams.
  • Experience with the AWS MAP programme would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience within the gambling industry would be a distinct advantage.
