The Role
We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to support deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities across secure client platforms. You’ll work closely with architecture, testing, and data migration teams to ensure smooth delivery of applications across both Windows and Linux environments. This role would suit someone with strong deployment and infrastructure experience who enjoys working in complex, security-focused environments and supporting the growth of junior engineers within the team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Maintaining and supporting applications within secure, air-gapped client environments
- Supporting deployments across Windows and Linux platforms
- Building confidence in executing manual deployments following knowledge transfer and shadowing sessions
- Using scripting and automation to streamline deployment and support activities
- Supporting and developing containerised deployments using Docker
- Progressing automation capabilities using Ansible and existing deployment documentation
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Architecture, Testing, and Data Migration
- Supporting and mentoring junior DevOps engineers within the project team
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across deployment and operational processes
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a DevOps, Platform, Infrastructure, or Deployment Engineering role
- Strong experience with Azure Stack or Microsoft Azure environments
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems administration
- Experience with scripting such as Bash, PowerShell, or similar
- Understanding of SQL and automation principles
- Experience supporting or deploying Docker/containerised applications
- Exposure to Ansible or infrastructure automation tooling
- Experience working within secure, regulated, or Defence environments would be highly beneficial
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience within Defence, MOD, or National Security environments
- Exposure to air-gapped or highly secure infrastructure
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevSecOps practices
