Role Overview:
- Location: Farnborough (onsite in secure environments // hybrid flex)
- Package: Competitive salary + bonus, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, private medical, life assurance, 10% employer pension, training support
- Industry: Defence & National Security / Secure Digital Technology
- Security Clearance: Must be eligible for SC clearance
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design, build, and support secure network solutions across LAN and WAN environments
- Configure and manage routing protocols including OSPF and BGP
- Implement VPNs and security infrastructure such as firewalls and NGFWs
- Translate high and low-level designs into working network configurations
- Support and troubleshoot complex network environments, including data centre networks
- Work with engineers and architects to deliver secure, high-performance systems
- Contribute to proof of concepts, lab testing, and adoption of new technologies
- Apply secure-by-design principles across all network implementations
Main Skills Needed:
- Strong experience with WAN architecture and SD-WAN technologies
- Solid understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
- Experience with VPNs, IKEv2, and network security infrastructure
- Hands-on firewall configuration across multi-vendor environments
- Data centre networking knowledge (Spine/Leaf, EVPN, BGP, Geneve)
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
- Experience supporting technologies like NSX and HAIPE (desirable)
- Ability to work independently and solve problems in secure, restricted environments
- Strong documentation skills and experience working from technical designs
