Role Overview

Location: UK-based with client site travel as required

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing, building and supporting robust AWS environments that scale securely
  • Automating infrastructure using modern IaC approaches to keep environments consistent and repeatable
  • Embedding security into CI/CD pipelines through automated testing and controls
  • Building, running and improving CI/CD pipelines to support fast, reliable releases
  • Deploying and managing containerised workloads using Docker and AWS-managed services
  • Monitoring performance, availability and cost, proactively improving reliability and efficiency
  • Troubleshooting Linux-based systems and leading root cause analysis for infrastructure issues
  • Shaping AWS networking, governance and tagging standards across environments
  • Producing clear architecture documentation and operational runbooks
  • Working closely with engineering and product teams to deliver against shared goals

Main Skills Needed

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, ECS, Fargate)
  • Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, Terraform or AWS CDK
  • CI/CD pipeline tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline)
  • Security integration within pipelines (SAST and DAST tooling)
  • Containerisation with Docker and managed AWS services
  • Configuration management using tools such as Chef or Ansible
  • Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting experience
  • Monitoring and logging with CloudWatch, CloudTrail and third-party tools
  • Good understanding of AWS networking, governance and tagging practices
  • Comfortable collaborating across technical and non-technical teams
