This newly created Business Analyst role will play a key part in shaping products and services that support better decisions, faster outcomes, and operational confidence.

Role Overview:

  • Location: Cheltenham, London or Manchester (with significant client-site travel)

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Work closely with customers, technical teams and delivery stakeholders to turn operational needs into clear, deliverable outcomes
  • Gather, analyse and document business, user and technical requirements in secure, complex environments
  • Translate requirements into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps and supporting delivery documentation
  • Own and refine product backlogs, helping teams prioritise work based on value, urgency and delivery needs
  • Support Agile delivery activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews and retrospectives
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder sessions and decision-making forums to maintain alignment across teams
  • Act as the link between product, design, engineering, data and testing teams to ensure solutions meet user and mission needs
  • Support testing and assurance by clarifying business rules, expected outcomes and acceptance measures
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies and requirement changes throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Help improve Agile delivery practices, governance and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams

Main Skills Needed:

  • Experience working within UK Security & Intelligence, defence or other highly secure government environments
  • Strong background in Business Analysis, Agile delivery and product-focused environments
  • Proven ability to gather, analyse and manage complex requirements and convert them into clear delivery outputs
  • Experience managing product backlogs and supporting prioritisation in fast-moving delivery settings
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Confident stakeholder engagement skills, including facilitating workshops and delivery discussions
  • Experience working alongside software engineering, testing, data and DevOps teams
  • Strong process mapping and workflow analysis capability, with an eye for governance and traceability
  • Current high-level UK security clearance is essential
