Role Overview:
- Location: Milton Keynes (on-site, with occasional remote work)
- Package: £30,000–£60,000 depending on experience + benefits
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing ruggedised enclosures, cabinets, and consoles for naval applications.
- Turning customer requirements into fully engineered solutions.
- Collaborating with electrical engineers, production, and quality teams to ensure products meet strict marine standards.
- Managing full project lifecycles from concept to compliance documentation.
- Applying principles of DFMA, thermal management, IP rating, EMC, vibration performance, and shock resistance.
- Contributing to manufacturing documents, parts lists, drawings, and test plans.
- Supporting project delivery on schedule and to spec.
Main Skills Needed:
- Experience in mechanical design for enclosures or cabinets, ideally for rugged environments.
- Proficient with AutoCAD Inventor (3D) and AutoCAD (2D).
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, and finishing techniques.
- Able to design for critical standards and apply relevant engineering regulations.
- Familiarity with FEA, CFD, or NASTRAN tools is a plus.
- Comfortable writing clear technical documentation and engaging with customers.
- Degree-qualified or equivalent industry experience.
