Data Scientist to join their growing team in Farnborough.
This is an opportunity to work on complex, mission-critical challenges where Artificial Intelligence, Large Language Models (LLMs), Graph Technologies, and advanced analytics are helping solve real-world operational problems.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and developing AI and Machine Learning solutions to support Defence and National Security programmes
- Building and deploying Large Language Model (LLM) applications and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures
- Developing solutions leveraging graph databases and knowledge graph technologies to uncover complex relationships and patterns
- Applying statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modelling techniques to large-scale datasets
- Working with structured and unstructured data sources to deliver actionable intelligence and insights
- Collaborating with software engineers, architects, and product teams to operationalise AI solutions
- Supporting the evaluation, testing, and optimisation of AI models within secure environments
- Contributing to AI strategy, innovation, and research initiatives across the organisation
What We're Looking For
- Active SC Clearance
- Experience working as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, AI Engineer, or similar role
- Strong Python development skills and experience with modern data science libraries
- Hands‑on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and prompt engineering
- Experience designing and implementing RAG solutions
- Knowledge of graph databases such as Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, Tiger Graph, or similar
- Experience developing machine learning and predictive analytics solutions
- Strong understanding of data modelling, data pipelines, and data engineering principles
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied stakeholders
- Knowledge of Knowledge Graphs and Graph Analytics
- Experience working within Defence, National Security, Government, or highly regulated environments
- Exposure to MLOps and model deployment practices
- Experience with vector databases and semantic search technologies
- Understanding of AI governance, ethics, and security considerations
