About The Role
Management of the workshop staff, workshop equipment, quality control, housekeeping and related health and safety, performance, efficiency, and repair method compliance in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
Main Accountabilities
- Management of Workshop Technicians and their performance
- Carry out regular performance reviews with Technicians and deal with any disciplinary issues.
- Manage WIP and VOR workflow
- Quality control of all work completed by workshop staff
- Authorise and control internal repair costs
- Liaising with Fleet maintenance team regarding warranty repairs, recalls, booking of services, and allocation of retail repair work
- Liaising with fleet maintenance controllers and the parts department, always prioritising work according to part availability and fleet requirements
- Manage service and repair processes in line with manufacturers' specifications and safe working procedures
- Manage compliance with the manufacturer's warranty policies and procedures
- Carry out daily checks of workshop equipment and diagnostic tools, manage diagnostic software accounts, passwords, and updates
- Manage workshop equipment in line with health and safety legislation including LOLER certification and management of COSHH in the workshop
- Liaising with Health and Safety staff as well as third-party suppliers regarding maintenance, testing, and compliance of all workshop equipment.
- Management of general housekeeping and health and safety in the workshop and surrounding areas
- Liaising with Driver support team regarding the condition of vehicles receiving maintenance and repair
- Mentoring and development of workshop staff
- Any other reasonable management requests
Essential
- Mechanical / Service / Warranty / Fleet Management Technical qualification
- Commercial Awareness
- Development and maintenance of working relationships both internally and externally
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Software and Fleet / Workshop Management Software
- Clear communicator in both written and verbal forms
