About The Role
The finance team sits at the heart of the business, working with business stakeholders to deliver the annual plans, mitigate risk, and exploit opportunities. Using a balance of commercial acumen, analytics, and management accounting, the team works to assess new business opportunities, analyze key decisions, report on performance to the business stakeholders, and complete the regular month-end reporting and forecasting.
The main challenges of the business are to develop marketing, sales, retention, and pricing capabilities to maintain and grow the current portfolio of customers by developing new products and offerings that create clear space between AL and their competitors.

Main Accountabilities
- You will be responsible for putting together the monthly management accounts including variance analysis against budget and forecasts.
- Key month-end tasks include revenue recognition, OPEX accrual/prepayments, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliations, and group month-end reports.
- National statistics returns.
- Responsible for the reconciliation of the Balance Sheet and having explanations for any queries raised in monthly review meetings.
- Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets.
- Assisting the manager with the preparation of annual statutory accounts & tax packs.
- Responsible for key weekly and monthly head office reporting.
- Preparation and support in the audit of financial statements (Internal and external).
- Covering for other accountants in their absence.
- Other ad-hoc duties.
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level in a Finance or Business-related subject.
- Part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Understanding of financial reporting, full P&L, and Balance Sheet preparation.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
- Intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, taking ownership of work and meeting strict deadlines.
