Addison Precision are recruiting for a Tooling / Calibration Engineer for a permanent staff role at our state of the art facility in Thornton-Cleveleys. You will join an established team working on a range of products for clients in various sectors. We operate a busy workshop where we constantly invest in our machines, ensuring we are at the leading edge of technology.

The Role

  • The role would suit an experienced machinist or someone who has worked in a tool room / manufacturing shop floor environment with an in-depth knowledge of cutting tools and inspection equipment.
  • Inventory Management of all consumable and capex tooling.
  • Inventory Management of all calibration activity.
  • Management of the companies Vend solution with ACT.
  • Tool setting pre-qualified tooling via “Tool Setter” and issuing to machine.
  • Review and issue of tooling kits to shop floor in line with traveller packs/set-up sheets and tooling sheets.
  • Compile Jigs/Fixtures/work holding based on pre-defined tooling sheets.
  • Issue kits to shop-floor in line with work to list schedules.
  • Auditing of stock control Tooling/Calibration via Vend solution/Cardex Machine/Virtual Vend.
  • Liaising with tooling representatives and managing procurement and vend consumption.
  • Procurement of capex tooling and spot orders.
  • Management and stock control of jigs/fixture requirements.
  • Maintaining the companies Heat-Shrink & Tool pre-setting equipment.
  • Managing the companies scrap carbide consumption.
  • Stock control of product using the companies ERP system.
  • Management of Calibration equipment and suppliers.
  • Updating and liaising with ME’s regarding tooling sheets encapsulating amendments and changes.

Person Specification

  • Suitable and relevant experience working as a machinist or a tooling / calibration engineer in a tool room or manufacturing shop floor environment.
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative.
  • Team Player, but also works well individually.
  • Organised and methodical approach to work.
  • Demonstrable experience in all aspects in the above mentioned role is highly desirable.
