Staff Accountant

We\’re partnered with an organization seeking a Staff Accountant to support general accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has a strong understanding of accounting principles. The role is on a flexible hybrid schedule. Responsibilities: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, amortization, and reclassifications Perform accrual accounting for expenses and revenue, including month-end and year-end accrual entries Reconcile bank statements to the general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies Prepare balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., cash, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities) on a monthly basis Investigate and clear reconciling items in a timely manner to ensure accurate financial reporting Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process by preparing schedules and account analysis Assist with intercompany reconciliations and entries, ensuring all entities are balanced and in agreement Work cross-functionally with AP, AR, and FP&A to ensure accurate and complete financial data Help prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits Ensure all entries are backed by appropriate documentation and meet internal control standards Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 2-3 years of working accounting experience Proficient with Excel (V Lookups, Pivot Tables, etc.) and accounting ERP Strong organization and communication skills Seniority level Seniority level Associate Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Accounting/Auditing Industries Accounting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Addison Group by 2x Get notified about new Accountant jobs in Greater Boston .
