Based at our Head Office in Thornton-Cleveleys and working at our client’s local site you will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered accurately, safely, and in line with project specifications, working closely with site management and subcontractors.
Services to Be Provided- Setting out works, surveying and dimensional control duties in accordance with drawings, specifications, and programmes
- Establish and maintain survey control points and datums
- Check line, level, and alignment of structures and groundworks
- Interpret and review engineering drawings and communicate requirements, changes or discrepancies to site teams
- Coordinating with site managers, engineers, and subcontractors
- Ensure quality assurance and accurate as-built records are maintained
- Supporting health, safety, and environmental standards on site
- Ensure all activities are delivered in line within internal systems, procedures, and policies
- Monitor site conditions including movement, vibration, and environmental factors
- Maintain and regularly check calibration of surveying equipment
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, quality checks (QA), and ITPs
- Raise technical queries and flag potential programme or sequencing issues
- Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on UK Onshore construction or civil engineering projects
- Strong working knowledge of surveying equipment (e.g. total stations, GPS)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Good understanding of construction methods, tolerances, and quality standards
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience
