Addiscombe Hockey Club is looking for enthusiastic and passionate coaches for the 2025/26 season and beyond. Addiscombe HC is a friendly club in the heart of Croydon, with pitches and Clubhouse easily accessible by public transport from East Croydon. We have four men's teams, two ladies teams and a thriving junior section with over 150 members aged 4-18. All our adult teams play competitive hockey in South East England. Our training programme for the club takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings for adults, and Sunday mornings for juniors.

About the roles

  • Head Coach - we are seeking a talented Head Coach to lead and support our junior and adult sections. You'll set the coaching strategy, create session plans and provide development to our team of paid and volunteer coaches. Commitment is approximately 2-3 hours per week (Starting from £35 p/hr).
  • Men's Coach - we are seeking a personable Men's coach to provide support to our men's coaching team on Wednesday evenings. You'll create session plans for our performance and development squads and work in conjunction with our existing coach to deliver quality sessions. There are also opportunities to travel with the Men's 1st XI squad on Saturdays to provide match day support, depending on coach availability. (Starting from £30 p/hr).
  • Junior Coach - working in conjunction with our Head Coach and Junior Section Lead, we are seeking an experienced junior coach to lead our junior coaching programme and provide development and support to our team of volunteer coaches. You'll set the weekly session plans and support all age group coaches with delivery, ensuring common themes and excellent coaching quality. Our juniors train on Sunday mornings from 9am to 12.30pm across all age groups. A level of flexibility is required to ensure that all groups benefit from your direct coaching on a regular basis. (Starting from £30 p/hr).

About you

For all roles, you'll ideally be Level 2 qualified, or have significant coaching experience across adult and junior hockey, and will have previously set a coaching strategy for a hockey club. You'll have demonstrable experience of developing a range of abilities, focussing on fun, competitive hockey. You'll be friendly, personable, and a great communicator, and able to motivate a team of paid coaches and volunteers. You'll be up to date with your safeguarding and first aid training and hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate (or be willing to obtain these).
