At Ara, we have been dedicated to making a positive impact in our communities since 1987. Our mission is to empower individuals and families, helping them transform their lives and build stronger, healthier communities. Providing hope and better lives. Ara is a lived experience organisation. With around one third of our work force having lived experience, we are actively looking to expand this, particularly in the gambling harms service.
As a Community Engagement Lead (CEL), you will work as part of a team to increase understanding of gambling-related harms, build strong community partnerships, and improve access to support for those affected. This is a hybrid role, with some home working; however, the majority of your time will be spent working within local communities and alongside partner organisations.
Some of the key tasks for this role include:

- Promote a greater understanding of gambling-related harm
- Encourage collaboration across services to improve referral pathways
The ideal candidate will:
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a regional team, actively contributing to a strong team culture.
- Have experience in developing and maintaining successful partnerships with a range of organisations and stakeholders.
- Be able to demonstrate relevant experience or transferable skills across the key areas of the role.
- Preferably have lived experience in gambling harms and or experience of recovery and prevention services.
In return we offer:
- A competitive and benchmarked salary.
- A 35 hour working week to promote a healthy work-life balance, with flexible working.
- Up to 32 days annual leave, as well as all UK bank holidays.
