Adderstone Management Limited (AML) is home to our dedicated Estates Team, who are responsible for the active management of the Group’s diverse property portfolio. The team plays a central role in protecting and enhancing asset value, overseeing day‑to‑day property operations, tenant relationships, service charge management and strategic asset initiatives across our commercial holdings. Working closely with our development, construction and legal colleagues, the Estates Team ensures our buildings are professionally managed and commercially optimised.
We’re seeking an ambitious and commercially minded undergraduate studying Real Estate, Property Management, Estate Management, Surveying or a related discipline, who is looking to undertake a 12‑month placement as part of their degree. You’ll be organised and confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including tenants, contractors, agents and professional advisers. Given the varied nature of our portfolio, you should be detail‑oriented, proactive and keen to understand how strategic asset management decisions drive performance and long‑term value. More than anything, we’re looking for someone who wants genuine responsibility and exposure across a live, income‑producing property portfolio.
This is an opportunity to gain hands‑on experience within a property investment and development business. You won’t be confined to observation; you’ll be embedded within our estates and asset management team, supporting the active management of commercial properties across the North East. You’ll gain exposure to tenant negotiations, property inspections and strategic asset initiatives, working closely with senior members of the business and our in‑house legal team. Most importantly, you’ll see the tangible impact of your work across a diverse and evolving portfolio. The role will involve a wide range of asset and property management duties, including:
- Supporting the estates team in managing Adderstone’s commercial property portfolio across the North East
- Travelling between properties to assist with property management inspections
- Assisting with lease advisory work, including lease renewals, rent reviews and break clauses
- Liaising with architects to review and create floorplans and designs for potential projects
- Gaining first‑hand experience in the lease preparation process with our in‑house legal team, from Heads of Terms through to completion
- Assisting with property viewings, negotiating lease terms and drafting Heads of Terms for new lettings
- Supporting the strategic management and marketing of vacant properties
- Obtaining competitive contractor quotes, raising digital purchase orders and reviewing invoices
- Investigating value‑add initiatives to enhance asset performance
