Adderstone Construction Limited, the specialist in-house construction company of Adderstone Group, is seeking enthusiastic students from Quantity Surveying or Construction Management degree courses to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on a diverse pipeline of construction projects in Newcastle and beyond.
Role Overview
The successful candidates will undertake a wide range of construction-related duties, including:
- Preparing sub-contract packages for competitive tender enquiries and evaluating returned tenders.
- Creating building material schedules, issuing them for competitive tender, and evaluating responses.
- Coordinating with site managers to ensure materials are scheduled and ordered in line with site requirements and timelines.
Liaising with utility companies regarding new supply contracts. - Assisting Senior Management and Company Director with sub-contract invoicing checks.
- Attending pre-start meetings with sub-contractors to discuss project timelines and programmes of work.
- Assisting in the creation and management of project programmes, including tracking milestones and key deliverables.
- Maintaining accurate records of current drawings (both electronic and hard copies) and issuing revisions to site teams.
- Ordering miscellaneous materials and equipment, such as PPE, from builders\β merchants.
- Ensuring that all activities adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Coordinating with clients and their representatives to schedule and complete snagging items.
- Regular visits to active construction sites to observe progress and understand site operations.
- Collating cost information to assist in producing final account statements.
- Performing general administrative duties as required.
