Senior Claims Advisor
Join our growing insurance business at Addept Insurance Services, a company building innovative legal expenses and ancillary solutions for a broad range of insurance industry customers. Established a little over two years ago, we are now growing rapidly and looking for a motivated and customer‑focused Senior Claims Advisor to join us.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with insurance claims experience who enjoys taking ownership of their work, solving problems, and making a real difference to customers during often stressful times.
The Role
As a full‑time Senior Claims Advisor, you will manage a caseload of insurance claims from initial notification through settlement, ensuring each claim is handled fairly, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with policyholders, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders, providing excellent service while supporting the continued growth of our business. A Senior Claim Advisor will also provide guidance on claims handling procedures, technical expertise, and best practices to Claims Advisors and Claims Assistants.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Assessment
- Receive and log new claims via telephone, email, and online platforms.
- Review policy cover and assess the validity of claims in line with policy terms and conditions.
- Gather relevant information and supporting evidence from customers and third parties.
Claims Investigation
- Conduct thorough investigations to establish the circumstances of claims.
- Arrange specialist inspections and assessments when necessary.
- Identify potentially fraudulent or suspicious claims and report appropriately.
Claims Settlement
- Negotiate claim settlements within agreed authority levels.
- Authorise funding, repairs, replacements or alternative forms of compensation.
- Keep customers informed through regular updates and manage expectations throughout the claims journey.
Customer Service
- Deliver a professional, empathetic and responsive customer service at all times.
- Explain complex insurance policy wording and policy conditions clearly and confidently.
Compliance
- Ensure claims are handled in accordance with company procedures, customer service standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive claim records throughout the claim process using company systems.
About You
- Previous experience handling insurance claims within the UK market.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- A keen eye for detail and ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
- Knowledge of insurance principles, policy wordings and UK regulatory requirements.
- Experience using claims handling or case management systems.
- Professional qualifications such as CII, or a willingness to work towards them, would be advantageous.
