Role Summary

  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:00
  • Location: Manchester City Centre (Office based)
  • Salary: ÂŁ50,000
  • Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

This senior role is responsible for the end-to-end coordination, preparation, and submission of Building Safety Cases, ensuring full compliance with the Building Safety Act and Building Safety Regulator requirements. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants, the successful candidate will lead on the delivery of Building Safety Case Reports, oversee fire safety compliance processes, and act as a central point of expertise across the organisation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of the Building Safety Case process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation and submission of Building Safety Case Reports (BSCRs).
  • Coordinate with internal teams, project managers, and third-party consultants to ensure consistency, quality, and completeness of all required safety information.
  • Manage relationships with external building safety and fire safety consultants, ensuring outputs meet both regulatory standards and internal expectations.
  • Act as the primary reviewer of Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance prior to senior approval.
  • Oversee and prioritise a high volume of FRA reviews, working collaboratively to resolve actions and ensure timely completion.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organisation’s “Golden Thread” approach to building safety information, ensuring data is accurate, up to date, and auditable.
  • Lead on the implementation, configuration, and ongoing governance of digital systems used to manage building safety information.
  • Line manage or oversee inspection activities, ensuring regular monitoring of buildings and compliance with both regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Monitor changes in legislation, guidance, and industry best practice, embedding updates into internal processes and procedures.
  • Support and contribute to procurement activities related to building safety services, including defining scopes of work and evaluating consultant performance.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety (England) Regulations, and associated legislation.
  • Proven experience managing Building Safety Cases and/or Safety Case Reports within a residential environment.
  • Experience reviewing Fire Risk Assessments and managing follow-up actions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and external partners.
  • Excellent organisational and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into operational processes.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
  • IT literate, including experience with Microsoft Office and building safety or property management systems.

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Experience implementing or managing “Golden Thread” data systems.
  • Previous experience in a senior or supervisory capacity.
  • Experience within residential property or block management.
  • Experience contributing to procurement or supplier management processes.
